British: homework due 2/2

Hey guys!

For those who have internships (and those who didn't write down the homework), here is your assignment for next Monday.

1. Ch. 14 – 27, Great Expectations
2. Be working on a vocab list!
3. In the very possible off-chance that we have a QUIZ next week, study the terms we covered in class (intern girls, get notes!) and do all your reading. Everything from class and reading is fair game.

See ya'll in February!

American: Homework due 1/26

Hey guys,

I found the homework! :)

You are to read Chapters 23 - 32. Then please answer the following questions in paragraph form, to be turned in. (There are no requirements on the length, as long as it is thorough.)

Study carefully the passage in which Huck decides to free Jim after he is captured. How would you sum up Huck's view of morality? (Paragraph one.) What do you make of Twain's portrayal of salvation? Is it biblical? (Paragraph two.)

Let me know if you have any questions!

British: Great Expectations

Hey friends!

The Great Expectations that I will be using has the following ISBN: 0-393-96069-2. We'll be starting in less than two weeks!

Also don't forget, next week is movie week. Please bring snacks and drinks and ... whatever! :)

AND - because I'm amazing, you don't have any extra homework this week besides finishing your character paper.

See ya'll Monday,
Ally

British: 2nd Semester Schedule

Hey guys! ...Just like the American class, I wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming schedule for the the second semester. Not many changes here, but I wanted you all to have it anyway...

Jan. 5 – 19: Jane Eyre continued
Jan. 26 – Feb. 16: Great Expectations, Charles Dickens
Feb. 23 – March 2: Silas Marner, George Eliot
March 9 – 16: The Ideal Husband, Oscar Wilde
March 23 – 30: Pygmalion, George Bernard Shaw
April 6: SPRING BREAK
April 13 – 27: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Agatha Christie
May 4 – 11: The Last Battle, C.S. Lewis

I have decided to go with Great Expectations. I truly believe it will serve us better. And the vast majority of you said this change was fine (thanks for your flexibility!). For those who may have financial trouble with purchasing an additional book, please feel free to email me.

See you soon!
